What is a mobile safari?

A mobile safari is just that: mobile.  We move from campsite to campsite with a support vehicle that carries our staff and camping supplies.  While we are out on our game drive the staff vehicle breaks camp and moves ahead to set up camp at the next destination. Instead of being based at a lodge, mobile safaris have the freedom to visit many different places.

Why choose our mobile camping safari?
Our mobile camping safari offers you a truly authentic African experience.  We camp in private, secluded campsites in the parks so you can have a true bush experience: from enjoying a bush campfire to falling asleep to the distant roars of lions, from witnessing the beauty of the night sky to watching the sun rise.  Our mobile camping safaris get you out in the wilds to experience the magic of bush camping.  Our guides are exceptional and have a deep respect for the land and an extensive knowledge about the wildlife.  They have worked and lived in Botswana for years and have experience to provide you with a safe and enjoyable trip.  Our mobile safaris are ideal for small groups, including families or groups of friends.

What do I need to bring?
You'll need to bring personal items (clothes, sleeping bag, etc), money, and passport.  A pair of good binoculars are almost important as your passport!  All camping gear is included.  Please see our "What to Bring" page for a suggested packing list.

What type of wildlife will I see?
This depends on the safari you choose.  You will see different types of animals if you choose the Kalahari over the Chobe/Moremi safari.  In the Kalahari antelopes like the gemsbok and springbok are common.  In northern Botswana you can expect to see all the classic African game: elephant, lion, cape buffalo, giraffes, hippos and many types of antelope.  Some mammals are common but relatively difficult to see (like the leopard).  In addition to the large mammals you can expect to see smaller mammals such as baboons, vervet monkeys, and warthogs. Please be aware we can not guarentee any animal sightings.

Birdlife is abundent as well so bring your binoculars.  Please see our "Itinerary" page where we describe the major parks we'll visit and the animals we hope to see.

What immunizations do I need?
Please see the "Visas and Vaccinations" page where we give links to the US Centers for Disease Control websites.  Review the information carefully and consult your physician before deciding on any immunizations.

How big will the group be?

We keep our group sizes small to ensure a personalized safari.  We require a minimum of 6 people and take up to 12.

How do I reserve a trip?
