Kalahari & Okavango Safari

The “Green Season” is a special time of year to visit Botswana.  By December the rains have finally arrived transforming the dry, dusty bush into a green, lush wonderland.  Zebra and other plains game migrate south from the Chobe region to give birth and graze on the fresh grass of the Makgadikgadi Pans and the Kalahari Desert.

Visit the Kalahari Desert, the endless grasslands of Nxai Pan and Makgadikgadi Pans, search for all the classic African game in the Moremi Game Reserve, and glide across the Okavango Delta in a dugout canoe.  Accommodation will be in lodges for 2 nights, luxury camping for 8 nights.

Namibia's Green Season 2020

The "green season" is southern Africa's summertime and in some places the rainy season.  Typically the least popular time for safaris, but there are some distinct advantages to traveling between January and March.  If you have any reservations about green season travel in Namibia, you can put those thoughts to rest. Namibia receives a fraction of the rain its neighbors get during the green season and temperatures are pleasant. Wildlife is at its healthiest and normally arid scenery can burst into bloom with just a hint of moisture. It's a fantastic time of year to visit, and these new exclusive packages from our partner in Namibia open up this destination to those who might not have been able to afford a safari during Namibia's peak season.

Serengeti 9

Authentic Tanzania with Dan Hopkins

Consider this your invitation to join Dan Hopkins, owner of GrassTrack Safaris, for a privately guided 13-day safari through the game parks of northern Tanzania.  Our guide is one of the top in Tanzania (he's guided for BBC and Nat Geo film crews) and we'll join a big cat biologist as we participate in a Citizen Science project and assist in his research of the lions and cheetahs of the Serengeti.  We'll visit the beautiful Tarangire National Park and the stunning Ngorongoro Crater before traveling to the Serengeti.  Our visit will be near the end of the calving season when tens of thousands of wildebeest and zebra give birth - surely one of the greatest natural history events on Earth!

We're offering only 1 departure for this extraordinary safari:
